CHARLESTON, SC — There is no greater challenge in college baseball right now than program continuity, and the level of difficulty increases significantly when you have a coaching change. It has become a default thought that whenever there is a coaching change, you have to start the process of building the program from scratch.
That was not the case in South Carolina this offseason, however. Paul Mainieri took over the program and was able to hold things together well.
