Eastern Railway, metro to run additional services to facilitate the movement of PSC clerk inspectors
The Eastern Railway will run additional train services on Saturday and Sunday to facilitate the movement of the West Bengal Public Service Commission (PSC) candidates who are going to take the clerkship exams, officials said.
The Kolkata Metro Railway will also run additional morning services on the Blue Line (Dakshineswar-New Garia) corridor on Sunday, they said.
ER will run 44 more EMU trains on the Howrah-Bardhaman-Howrah line in the Howrah section, via Bandel and Dankuni, stopping at all stations on Saturday and Sunday, officials said.
These trains will run between Howrah-Memari, Bandel-Memari, Howrah-Bandel, Howrah-Srirampur, Howrah-Seoraphuli and Howrah-Baruipara, they said.
Metro Railway will operate 138 services (69 up and 69 down) along the Blue Line instead of the usual 130 services, which are run on Sundays, the statement said.
Although eight trains (four up and four down) will run that day between 7 am and 9 am with a 30-minute break, from 9 am, the trains will run according to the regular Sunday service schedule.
