After a triple-double, LeBron James reminded the NBA world that we need to appreciate every moment he has on the court as he approaches 40 years of age.
“I’m not going to play that long, to be completely honest,” James said. “I don’t know how many years that is, if it’s one or two years, whatever it is. I said one night that I don’t play until the wheels fall off.”
He went on to explain that he tries not to look too far ahead and enjoy the future.
“I’m just living in the moment,” said James. “It feels good to be able to go out and play the game I love at a high level.
Following LeBron’s comments, Shams Charania speculated that the NBA legend might retire soon.
“My sense is that next season may be his last season in the NBA,” Charania said First Take. “Maybe Bryce James keeps him for an extra year or two. But I think next season, the All-Star game in Los Angeles, there might be a good push for that.”
Recently, Bron’s former Cavs teammate Tristan Thompson insisted that “the three of them will be on the same team,” referring to LeBron and his sons Bronny and Bryce.
In response to Thompson’s comments, LeBron did not decide to play with both of his sons.
“Bryce is old,” she said. “I don’t know. We will see. We will see. That would be great. It’s all about my mindset and seeing how my body reacts over the next few years.”
LeBron is winning the battle with Father Time as it is, and he is still producing at a very high level in his 22nd season in the NBA as he is averaging 24.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 9.4 assists per game, while shooting a . -52.4 from the field and 45.9% from deep.
