HONOLULU (KHON2) — It’s been almost a week since Hannah Kobayashi, 31, disappeared in California.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons confirmed on Friday, Nov. 15 that Hannah was listed as a missing person. Other family members are on the ground hoping to find him.
Hannah’s aunt drove six hours from Big Sur to Los Angeles to try to help find her niece. Airport authorities released a photo taken before Hannah boarded her flight to New York on Friday, Nov. 8.

“LAPDX has been helpful. They have been trying to get CCTV footage. “We got that picture of him getting off the plane,” said Larie Pidgeon.
Hannah’s family said her texts seemed to change in tone before stopping completely and a strange post on her Instagram on Sunday, Nov. 10 with LeBron James and Nike logos were found to be from an event at The Grove.
They searched the internet for any video taken by the attendees and found a short clip that showed Hannah walking with headphones.
“We are 100% positive. And as of today, we talked to that videographer who made that video and he got a time stamp that said he was here in the Grove at 3:40 p.m. Sunday,” Pidgeon said. “This has been going on for six days without seeing him and his phone has been switched off for six days!”
“Hana is beautiful and loving and kind, and she wouldn’t let any of us worry.

Hannah’s father and another aunt are also in California to meet her while Hannah’s sister is flying in on Saturday, Nov. 16 so that he can help. Hannah’s mother will live in Hawaii with Hannah’s sister, Hope.
“We have an unwritten rule that we always check whether it’s me, Syd, Hope, Hannah, us, it’s like, ‘Okay, I’m here and I’m safe,'” said Hannah’s mother, Brandi Kobayashi.
“It’s not her normal behavior to just disappear or have something planned, because when her mind is focused on something related to travel,” said Hannah’s older sister, Sydni Kobayashi.
“Come hell or high water, you’re there,” Brandi said.
“And that’s why we’re so grateful for the media, the media, for everyone who is exposing this and trying to help us find our missing niece, daughter, sister,” said Pidgeon.

Hannah’s phone was last found at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday, Nov. 11. Anyone who has seen him or has information about his whereabouts is asked to call the LAPD.
