Italian town offering 1 Euro homes to ‘old’ Americans due to election results
An Italian town is offering a special deal to Americans seeking relief following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory by offering housing for one Euro.
Located in the countryside of Sardinia, Italy, the ancient town of Ollolai recently launched the “Live in Ollolai” program that offers a special deal in an effort to attract Americans seeking asylum following Trump’s victory against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The rural community released a statement on its website saying: “Are you tired of global politics? Want to embrace a balanced lifestyle while discovering new opportunities? It’s time to start building your European escape in the magical paradise of Sardinia.”
“Ollolai is the perfect place to reconnect, recharge, and embrace a new way of life,” the website says.

The town promises to be “surrounded by amazing food” while being “immersed in a community with an ancient culture.”
When searching for their new home, Americans can choose a place to renovate or spend more to find a ready-made one.

The website noted that ready-to-move-in homes are priced at up to 100,000 euros while some homes in need of renovation are being sold for one euro.

Mayor Francesco Columbo told CNN that the city created the deal “to meet America’s immigration needs after the election.”
“Yes, we will not mention the name of one American president who has just been elected, but we all know that he is the one that many Americans want to get out of now and leave the country,” he said.
