Luke Combs introduced Eric Church at the 2024 CMA Awards, highlighting the millions he raised for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina.

Last month, Luke Combs and Eric Church held a concert to raise money for Hurricane Helene relief. During the 2024 CMA Awards, Combs talked about their efforts before introducing Church on stage.

After Combs shared with the audience that she and Church had raised more than $24 million for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina, Church came out to sing her song, “Dark Hour (Helene Edition).” Earlier, the Church announced that all the money raised from this song will be donated to help those affected by the storm.

As the Church sang, she was joined by a group of singers and a small orchestra while images were shown on a screen showing the damage left after the storm, relief efforts, loved ones thanking each other, and crosses and American flags standing strong. .

The storm’s destruction struck close to home for Combs and Church, both North Carolina natives.

“I remember there was some video of a place I knew near western North Carolina, and … I didn’t know what I was looking at. I was surprised to see this place that I grew up in, that I knew. , that I didn’t see anymore,” Church told Fox News Digital earlier before the benefit concert.

“It’s a very special place to me. A lot of memories there, and I hate to see the state it’s in,” Combs said.

The Carolina concert was a hastily arranged event for country stars. It was hosted by ESPN’s Marty Smith and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley. The concert was held at the Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina.

There were performances from many stars, including James Taylor, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, Bailey Zimmerman, Scotty McCreery, Chase Rice, the Avett Brothers and Parmalee, as well as special appearances from Nicole Kidman and Randy Travis.

During the show, the Church made an announcement that her organization will build 100 homes for those affected by Hurricane Helene.

This hastily organized event saw no shortage of attendees, as more than 82,000 people filled the seats to support the cause.
