Chiefs player Tershawn Wharton grabbed a young fan after crossing the barrier at Panthers’ Stadium

Kansas City Chiefs Defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton was instrumental in the team’s victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Wharton, 26, was leaving the field at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina after Spencer Schrader hit a 31-yard field goal as time expired to seal the Chiefs’ 30-27 victory. the Panthers.

The fans near the tunnel from which the Chiefs came out gathered against the barrier, including a young fan wearing a Nick Bolton jersey.

In a video posted on social media, Bolton was seen approaching a group of fans as he took off his old gloves to give them to a young Chiefs fan. That’s when the young fan leans over the barrier.
Reacting quickly, Wharton ran and seemed to want to catch the child.

It is not clear if the child was injured in the fall, but Wharton was seen picking him up from the bag without any problems. A young fan was seen holding the glove during the promotion.
The field worker can be seen in the video telling the fans to come back after the child fell.
“Go back to your seats” the man said. “Everybody get back to your seats! The kid just fell. Get back to your seats.”

Wharton appeared on the “Pat McAfee Show” to discuss the incident. He said he was walking around passing his gloves to the fans shouting his name when he saw the child fall. He then rushed to grab the child by the back of his shirt to break his fall.
“I had to push him a little bit into the stands to make sure he didn’t hit [the ground] very hard.”
He said he hopes to take the child out of the game in the future.”
Wharton, a two-time Super Bowl champion, is in his fifth season with the Chiefs. He played two games in a win on Sunday, which got the Chiefs back on track after losing for the first time this season. Buffalo bills. last week.
