“This seizure affected the funds of international criminal organizations, preventing them from receiving R8.4 billion. We were also able to stop the production of 29 tons of cocaine by destroying 475 research facilities.”
The six-week exercise led by the Orion international naval mission involved 10 international organizations and 127 institutions from 62 countries.
1,408 tons of drugs were seized, including 225 tons of cocaine, more than 128 tons of marijuana were seized and 1,044 tons were disturbed in agricultural areas between Brazil and Paraguay, as well as 4.9 tons of hashish and 198 kilograms of methamphetamine .
These operations took place in the sea, coast, ocean, rivers, rural areas and port centers of five continents, according to a report shared by the Colombian authorities.
