A 12-year-old Washington boy stole his grandfather’s car, driving 160 miles before being stopped
A 12-year-old boy in Washington state has been arrested after allegedly stealing his grandfather’s car and driving it 160 miles across the country.
Police in the city of Issaquah notified the Grant County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday that a boy had stolen his grandfather’s car and was believed to be headed to Grand County, the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.
The boy is connected to the town of Moses Lake, in Grant County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit began searching for the vehicle and found the vehicle around 10:20 a.m. parked in the 900 block of Lowry Street in the Larson Community of Moses Lake.
The boy then fled in the vehicle and led deputies on a short chase that ended when the deputy executed a PIT maneuver near Randolph Road and State Route 17.

A 12-year-old suspect is being held at the Chelan County Juvenile Justice Center on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and felony eluding.

No one was injured, and the damage to the vehicle was minimal, the sheriff’s office said.
