During Christmas, the bakery recreates the Nativity scene using bread

A bakery in England decided to honor the Christmas holiday and the meaning of Christmas by recreating the Nativity scene in a unique way: with bread.

The team at Hobbs House Bakery in Gloucestershire, England, created the window display after employee Amanda Jane and her store manager came up with the idea, according to news service SWNS.

The group used wild white dough bread to make the figures of Mary, Joseph, the shepherd and the kings.

Jane told the news agency that it took two to three days to dry the bread well enough to be able to slice and varnish it.

“I just cut one flat for them to stand up, then I varnished them twice so they wouldn’t wrinkle or mold,” she said.
