Sabrina Carpenter’s ex Barry Keoghan shuts down Instagram, pleads for ‘respect’ amid cheating rumors

Not long after Barry Keoghan shut down his Instagram account, the “Saltburn” actor rumored to have cheated on girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter took to social media to explain his decision and ask for respect.

“I can always take too much. My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don’t respond to,” he wrote on X. “I have to answer now because it’s gettin.[g] in a place where there are too many lines to cross.

“I have closed my account because I can no longer allow these things to interfere with my family and my work. The messages I received should not be read at all. Total lies, hate, disgusting comments about my appearance, my character, how I feel. I am a parent and all the rest the most inhumane things imaginable.

“Draging my character and everything I’ve worked hard for and stood for,” he continued. “I’m talking about how I was a superhero kid and how I grew up and dragged my mom into it again. I’m knocking on my grandma’s door. I’m sitting outside my boyfriend’s house scaring her. That crosses the line.

“Every day I work hard to push myself at all levels so that I can be a healthy and strong person for that boy,” he concluded. “I want to give him opportunities to learn, fail and grow. I want him to be able to look up to his father, trust me completely and know that I will have his back no matter what. I need him to remember that he must learn ALL this about his father when he grows up. Please respect everyone.

A representative for Keoghan did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

On Thursday, Carpenter surprised fans for the first time in his Netflix Christmas special as cheating rumors swirled about his relationship with Keoghan.
