Top businesses and leaders in the Philippines have been honored at the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2024

The Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2024 Philippines Chapter celebrated the achievements of outstanding Filipino business leaders and entrepreneurs on Dec. 11 at the Hilton Manila. Organized by the regional NGO Enterprise Asia, APEA is the largest and most prestigious social media awards in Asia, covering 16 markets annually.

This year, APEA focuses on “Celebrating Inclusive Entrepreneurship”, recognizing visionary business leaders and organizations whose efforts and strategies have contributed significantly to the realization of an inclusive entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Philippines.

A panel of distinguished judges carefully evaluated over 150 nominees, evaluating each entrepreneur and organization based on their relevance. This rigorous process determined the winners in four categories: Master Entrepreneur, Inspirational Brand, Fast Business, and Business Success.

Since 2007, the Awards have been organized across the region and previous recipients include Douglas Tong Hsu from Taiwan, Francis Lui from Hong Kong and Lawrence Ho, Dang Van Thanh from TTC from Vietnam, Supaluck Ampuj from Thailand, Hoe Kian Choon from Cuckoo Malaysia, Hary Tanosoedib from Indonesia and Mooktar Tanoedib. Riady, Adi Godrej from India, and Dennis Anthony Uy from the Philippines.

“As we witness the remarkable achievements of our awardees, we celebrate their unwavering determination, tenacity, and creativity. Their stories inspire us to think about a future where success is shared and opportunities are available worldwide,” Enterprise Asia Chairman, Dr. Fong Chan Onn, announced in an uplifting welcome speech.

Manuel B. Villar, Jr., Chairman of Vista Land & Lifescapes, Inc., received the Senior Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his contribution to building a better livelihood for the Filipino people. Considered the ‘Father of the Philippine Housing Industry’, Villar’s companies have built more than 500,000 houses for middle-class Filipino families. Today, he continues to dedicate his life to ensuring that the path he took from poverty to success can be experienced by all Filipinos.

Award winners under the Senior Entrepreneur category include Gil G. Chua, Group Chairman and CEO of DDB Group Philippines and Enrico DeePresident and CEO of Foodie Global Food Concepts, honored for their outstanding leadership.

Century Pacific Food, Inc., Hilti Philippines, Inc., and Watsons Personal Care Stores (Phils.), Inc. was among the recipients of the Inspirational Brand award. Businesses recognized under the Fast Enterprise category include DigiPlus Interactive Corp. and I-Fern Corporation. Finally, among the top companies taking the Corporate Excellence award were GOAC Group Of Companies and Nimbyx.
