Scottie Scheffler’s 2024 season has earned him comparisons to Tiger Woods. Here’s what the numbers say.

The 2024 Greatest Golf Times No. 3: Scottie Scheffler’s entire season
Let’s celebrate this important place in our year-end countdown up. We’ve run out of ways to describe Scottie Scheffler’s genius in words — let’s try numbers here instead.
Scottie Scheffler finished first (1) with a bewildering number of categories, including hits achieved, average points, official money, about a dozen other categories that are the most important and the biggest of all: world class.
Scheffler’s victory in April means he now has two (2) A Masters victory, making him one of 18 people in that exclusive club.
Scheffler won PGA Tour Player of the Year, joining Tiger Woods as the only players to win the award three times. (3) consecutive times.
Scheffler also struck out four times (4) five wins starting in March and April, when he claimed the Arnold Palmer, The Players, The Masters and the RBC Heritage. A disappointing fifth tournament in that span? He finished T2 at the Houston Open, just missing a putt that would have earned him a spot in the playoffs.
Scheffler shot five (5) under Valhalla on the day of his infamous arrest Friday at the PGA Championship. He would go on to finish T8 all week.
Scheffler led the PGA Tour with seven (7) won the majors, the most in a season since Tiger Woods had eight in 2006.
Scheffler actually had nine (9) you win, if you count the Hero World Challenge (which you probably should) and the Olympic gold (which you should forget, as an extra).
Scheffler split $10 million (10) in crypto with Rory McIlroy after the winning duo of Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka at the Showdown in December. He suggested that this could be the motivation he needed to learn what crypto really is.
Scheffler now has thirteen (13) career wins — all 13 have come since Ted Scott became his teammate before the 2022 season.
Sixteen-year-old Scheffler (16) The top 10 finishes led the PGA Tour despite playing only 19 events; only Xander Schauffele also had double digits.
Twenty-nine-year-old Scheffler (29) after ninth in the final round of the Olympics that earned him gold; It was arguably the most incredible nine of the season.
Now Scheffler has made forty-four (44) cut in sequence; His last MC came at the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open. It’s worth noting that a lot of Scheffler’s starts these days come in limited events, but still – the 44 is no joke. Two other golfers currently have strokes longer than 17.
Scheffler’s victory in the Hero World Challenge earned him the final $1 million, pushing him over sixty-three million. ($63) this season where he gets lessons when he counts his winnings (over $30 million) and a FedEx Cup bonus ($25 million) and a Comcast bonus ($8 million).
Scheffler’s scoring average (68.01) set a new PGA Tour record.
