Star luxury estate brokers charged with sex trafficking

Two prominent real estate agents and their brother have been charged with sex trafficking in a case involving accused of using drugs, beating and raping dozens of women over a period of more than ten years.

Prosecutors say Tal and Oren Alexander, known for selling high-end properties in New York and Miami, and their brother Alon, used their wealth to take advantage of women.

The brothers were arrested in Florida on Wednesday and are expected to be taken to New York to face charges.

Oren Alexander’s attorney dismissed the allegations. Tal Alexander’s representative, Joel Denaro, declined to comment. A lawyer for Alon Alexander did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“As of today, law enforcement has interviewed dozens of women who reported that they were raped or sexually assaulted by at least one of the Alexander brothers,” said Damian Williams, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, at a press conference in Manhattan. .

“This behavior, as stated, was bad.”

Prosecutors say the alleged crimes were committed over a period of more than ten years.

The lawsuit describes a scheme that involved inviting women to parties and using promises of luxury and travel to lure them to locations in the US and other countries where the alleged assaults took place.

It also says they bought drugs to give to women and, sometimes, “surreptitiously” put them in drinks.

Finally, the prosecutors also said that in some cases the brothers “held and held their victims during the rape and sexual abuse and ignored the screams and clear requests for them to stop”.

After these incidents, it is said that the brothers gave some of the robbers concert tickets and other luxuries.

The three brothers were charged with one count of engaging in sex trafficking conspiracy, and a second count of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.

Tal Alexander is also charged with one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion.

“Oren Alexander is innocent,” said his attorney, Susan Necheles.

“The evidence will show that he and his brothers have never committed a crime.”

Meanwhile, the lawyer representing the women accepted the charge.

“We are pleased to hear that there will finally be some measure of accountability for the Alexander brothers and justice for their many victims,” said David Gottlieb in a statement filed by his law firm Wigdor LLP on X.

“We applaud all survivors who have had the strength and courage to speak about their incredible experiences after years of pain and suffering.”

Tal and Oren Alexander worked for real estate giant Douglas Elliman, listing properties for celebrities including Liam Gallagher, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

In 2022, they started a company called Official.
