A child was abandoned in a bag on a NYC street
The New York City Police Department is investigating after a baby was left in a bag near a Bronx building.
Police responded to a 911 call shortly after six o’clock Sunday morning looking for a crying baby and found that someone had placed the baby girl wrapped in blankets inside a duffel bag and left the bag in front of a building on Rev. James A. Polite Avenue, according to Dr. officials.
The NYPD said the infant, who has not been identified, was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition and is being cared for by hospital staff.
“Hearing that this is a very disturbing thing for this neighborhood,” a resident told FOX 5 NY.
