‘I’m a surgeon – this is what I eat for a brain-healthy breakfast’

Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day for a number of reasons – and feeding your brain is one of them.

In a video posted to X on Sunday, Fox News medical contributor Dr. Nicole Saphier asked her surgeon husband, Dr. Paul Saphier, MD, what you had for breakfast.

Saphier, founder of Coaxial Neurosurgical Specialists in New Jersey, responded that “you eat a heart-healthy breakfast.”

This included various ingredients that would make a yogurt parfait.

The meal started with 0% fat Greek yogurt, which provides “excellent protein,” as well as probiotic health benefits, the doctor said.

“Immunologically, [honey] it’s good for you,” he said. “A lot of antioxidants are there too. It helps reduce many other mental problems.”

The surgeon included granola in his breakfast, mixed with chia seeds, flax seeds and nuts for “small, healthy fats” such as omega-3 fatty acids.
