Kate Middleton says her cancer is in remission

KMiddleton, Princess of Wales, announced on Tuesday that her cancer is in remission, almost a year after she publicly disclosed that she was suffering from it.

“It’s a relief now that I’m in remission and I’m still focusing on recovery,” he said in an email to X on Jan. 14.

Middleton first shared her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, saying she began treatment in late February and was receiving what she called “preventative” chemotherapy. Middleton and the royal family have never announced what type or stage of cancer she had.

In his letter about forgiveness, he thanked those who supported his family during the journey that lasted almost a year. “My heartfelt gratitude goes out to all who walked peacefully alongside me and William as we checked everything,” she said. “We couldn’t have asked for anything else. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been excellent.”

Middleton recently visited the hospital where he was being treated, where he spoke to staff and patients. It was his most important solo encounter since his treatment ended, according to the BBC. He thanked the staff at his work, revealing for the first time where he received treatment.

In September, the Princess shared that she had finished chemotherapy and was focusing on “being cancer free.” She had withdrawn from many royal engagements for most of the year to focus on treatment, but gradually began attending public events at the end of last year, including a Remembrance Sunday service and a Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

“As anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer will know, it takes time to adjust to a new situation,” Middleton wrote on Tuesday. “However, I am looking forward to the coming year.”
