Cameron Diaz describes a 10-year break from Hollywood as she returns to the limelight
Cameron Diaz didn’t think she would ever do another movie, until Jamie Foxx called.
Diaz revealed how she spent the past 10 years out of the spotlight before returning to acting with Foxx’s “Back in Action.”
“I haven’t been doing any kind of training,” the 52-year-old actor said in a video shared “I’m still watching Netflix.” “I didn’t do anything in public. I refused everything, except my wine.”
During his downtime in Hollywood, Diaz started his own wine company, Avaline.

“I didn’t think I was going to make another movie. I was so happy, you know, living my life and doing other things.”
“That’s what I was most focused on,” explained Diaz, “if I could do anything other than being a mother and living my day to day.”
The star of “Charlie’s Angels” has revealed what pushed him to return to acting after ten years of not being seen. Diaz made 38 films in 20 years. She is known for roles in “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Sister’s Keeper,” “Shrek,” “The Other Woman” and many other films.
“I didn’t think I would do another film,” he admitted. “I was so happy, you know, living my life doing other things. You know, like day to day, not movies. And then I get a call from Jamie Foxx. And how do you say no to Jamie Foxx when he says, ‘Hey, I have this great comedy that we can have fun with.’ ‘
“If there’s anyone I’d go back and spend months on end, sitting, having a ball, laughing with, it would be Jamie.”

Diaz revealed that nothing could change his mind about his decision to leave Hollywood in an October interview. She quit acting in 2014 to focus on building a life with her husband Benji Madden.
“It felt like the right thing for me to get my life back, and I didn’t care about anything else,” the actress said during an appearance at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, according to E! News.
“No one’s opinion, no one’s success, no one, no one can change my mind about my decision to take care of myself and build the life that I really wanted. I think it comes down to what do you love? For me, it was building my family.”

The film, “Back in Action,” which marked Diaz’s starring comeback, has been delayed due to Foxx’s health scare to 2023 and is now scheduled for a January 17 release on Netflix.
Diaz appeared on the red carpet alongside Foxx Jan. 15 in Germany to promote the film.
He admitted that he “couldn’t say no” to Foxx for what will be their third project together after starring in “Annie” and “Any Given Sunday.”

However, it wasn’t easy to switch gears from mother to Hollywood star.
“We were in the house for a long time, which was amazing,” said Diaz speaking at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, explaining when she was away from the industry.
“So, I had to push myself. My husband, he’s the best. He was just like, ‘You’re raising a family.’ And supporting her in her businesses. She’s like, ‘It’s time to support you and let mom go up and do her thing.’
