“That’s what I was most focused on,” explained Diaz, “if I could do anything other than being a mother and living my day to day.”

The star of “Charlie’s Angels” has revealed what pushed him to return to acting after ten years of not being seen. Diaz made 38 films in 20 years. She is known for roles in “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Sister’s Keeper,” “Shrek,” “The Other Woman” and many other films.

“I didn’t think I would do another film,” he admitted. “I was so happy, you know, living my life doing other things. You know, like day to day, not movies. And then I get a call from Jamie Foxx. “If there’s anyone I’d go back and spend months on end, sitting, having a ball, laughing with, it would be Jamie.”

Diaz revealed that nothing could change his mind about his decision to leave Hollywood in an October interview. She quit acting in 2014 to focus on building a life with her husband Benji Madden.

“It felt like the right thing for me to get my life back, and I didn’t care about anything else,” the actress said during an appearance at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, according to E! News.

“No one’s opinion, no one’s success, no one, no one can change my mind about my decision to take care of myself and build the life that I really wanted. I think it comes down to what do you love? For me, it was building my family.”

However, it wasn’t easy to switch gears from mother to Hollywood star.

“We were in the house for a long time, which was amazing,” said Diaz speaking at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, explaining when she was away from the industry.

“So, I had to push myself. My husband, he’s the best. He was just like, ‘You’re raising a family.’ And supporting her in her businesses. She’s like, ‘It’s time to support you and let mom go up and do her thing.’
