The Israeli military said on Wednesday it killed two people in the northern Gaza Strip who were involved in a massacre by Hamas in Israel more than 14 months ago.
One of them led an attack by the Israeli army near the border with the Gaza Strip, in which 14 Israeli soldiers were killed, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was put in X.
It says the man also attacked Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip during the ensuing war.
The Israeli Air Force killed him in a former school building in Gaza City, the IDF said.
In another strike that took place in Jabalia, the army also killed the head of Hamas’s paragliding unit, who directed the army to cross into Israeli territory on October 7 from the air – when other soldiers entered Israel by paraglider.
The IDF did not say when the two men were killed.
Israel’s attack on Hamas is currently concentrated in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to Palestinian reports, Israeli attacks often result in high casualties. The Israeli military has repeatedly stressed that it is taking steps to reduce the risk to civilians.
