The Dodgers and the left hand Tanner Scott they agreed to a four-year, $72MM deal according to a report from Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Scott was ranked the #14 free agent in this winter’s class on MLBTR’s annual Top 50 MLB Free Agents list, where we predicted the rest would receive a four-year, $56MM deal. His deal with LA is above that mark, but that’s not really surprising given reports earlier this month that suggested Scott could get an average annual deal in the $20MM range. In the end, this deal doesn’t go that far, though his $18MM AAV is still great pay for his position. According to MLBTR’s Contract Tracker, Scott is tied for the third-highest free agent AAV in free agent history alongside him. Liam HendriksIt’s dealing with the White Sox and these two back-to-backs Edwin Diaz again Josh Hader. At the time, he was the fifth-highest total surety that a pitcher ever hit in free agency behind only Diaz, Hader, Aroldis Chapmanagain Kenley Jansen.
