GREAT ABACO, Bahamas — Sudarshan Yellamaraju shot a bogey-free 8-under 64 on Wednesday to win by five strokes at the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic, the second event of the year on the Korn Ferry Tour.
The 23-year-old Canadian opened with a one-shot lead and moved into the lead with five birdies on the six-hole front nine at The Abaco Club. He added birdies on No. 14, 15 and 17 to complete his first professional victory at age 25-under 263 — a tournament record, which will begin in 2017.
Two-time PGA Tour winner Russell Knox of Scotland and Kensei Hirata of Japan are tied for second at 20 under. The 39-year-old Knox has finished in the top 10 in both Korn Ferry Tour events this year. Hirata, a seven-time winner on the Japan Golf Tour, was playing Korn Ferry for the first time.
