BPCL Q3 FY25 results: PSU oil marketing profit jumps 94% sequentially, misses street expectations

BPCL Q3 FY25 Results: State-owned oil marketing company (OMC) Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) on Wednesday reported a standalone profit of Rs 4,649.2 crore for the quarter ended December 31, marking a jump of 93.9 percent sequentially.

The PSU registered revenue of Rs 1,27,520.5 crore in the third quarter of the current financial year, marking an increase of 8.1 percent quarter-on-quarter, according to an official filing.

According to research by Zee Business, BPCL is estimated to report a third quarter profit of Rs 5,000 crore and revenue of Rs 1,00,072 crore.

BPCL registered a 68 per cent quarter-on-quarter rise in October-December earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to Rs 7,580 crore.

Its margin, an important measure of profitability, improved by 230 points in a row to 6.7 percent.

BPCL Gross Refining Margin

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd earned an average gross refining margin of $5.95 per barrel, marking a significant improvement over $4.41 a barrel last quarter.

BPCL Shares Pricing News

Earlier on Wednesday, shares of BPCL ended lower by Rs 2.5, or 0.9 percent, at Rs 277.7 apiece on the BSE.

Shares of BPCL have rewarded investors with returns of nearly 17 per cent in the past one year, outpacing the nine per cent gain in the headline Nifty 50 index.

The Nifty Energy index fell by around 1.5 percent during this period.
