Efforts to raise ice go to Free Canadi Frewter from Lake Erie

Frantic efforts continued to free the Freying Manitoulin from the Ice of Lake Erie near Buffalo, New York, on the morning of Friday, January 24.

According to local news reports, the Canadian River, with 17 people on board, got stuck in the ice in Lake Erie after leaving Buffalo on Wednesday.

The US Coast Guard (USCG) began trying to free the vessel on Thursday, and confirmed that the vessel was undamaged and that the crew aboard was safe, according to local WKBW

Footage filtered by Tim Wenger on Friday shows the USCG Tugboat progressing towards Manitoulin.
