Fighting
- Ukrainian forces shot down 50 of the 72 drones launched by Russia overnight. It said nine drones were “lost”, referring to Ukraine’s use of electronic warfare to redirect Russian drones, while one was in Ukrainian airspace.
- Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems destroyed 15 Ukrainian drones over Russia and two maritime drones in the Black Sea.
- Eight aircraft were shot down in the Ryazan region, six were destroyed in the Kursk region and one drone hit the Belgorod region overnight, the ministry said.
Diplomacy
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday that the allies should work to find a way for possible peace talks with Russia, and he reiterated that only talks involving Kyiv can bring stable peace.
- Zelenskyy said US military aid to Kyiv has not been affected by the State Department’s freeze on foreign aid. According to him, the suspended aid affects the support of the people. “I am focused on helping the soldiers. It has not been stopped,” he said.
