President Donald Trump indicated on Saturday that he had spoken with the king of Jordan about possible housing in Palestine from Gaza in neighboring countries, a surprising proposal from the US President.
Trump said he asked Jordan Abdullah II, a key US ally in the region, to take more Palestinians in a phone call during the day.

Jordan’s Petra News Agency reported the call by Trump, but did not mention sending the Palestinians. The kingdom is already home to more than 2.39 million registered refugees, according to the UN.
Trump said that he would like both Jordan and Egypt – which borders were hit – to be beaten – to put people, and that he would talk to Egyptian President Adel Fattah el Sisi about this issue on Sunday.
“You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we’re just cleaning up everything,” Trump said, adding that there have been centuries-long conflicts in the region.
He continued: “I don’t know, something has to happen, but it’s actually a place of demolition right now. Almost all the demolitions and people are dying there, so I’d rather join with other Arab countries and build houses in a different place where I think they can live in peace.”
The President, a former engineer, said that the possible housing could be “temporary” or “long-term.”
Amit Segal, a commentator on the Israel Network Channel 12 News, charged Israeli officials and reported that the movement was not part of the language but part of a much wider movement than it seems, integrated with Israel. “
A source familiar with the matter confirmed the report to CNN but did not provide further details. CNN has reached out to the US Department of Communications for comment.
Addressing comments on US policy
As well as killing tens of thousands of people, the 15-month war between Israel and Hamas has reduced much of Gaza to rubble. Israeli Airstrikes damaged or destroyed about 60 percent of buildings, including schools and hospitals, and 92 percent of homes, according to the UN.
About 90% of Gazans have been uprooted, and many civilians have been forced to move again and again, some more than 10 times, according to the UN.
Trump’s comments appear to break with decades of US foreign policy, which has long emphasized an Israeli-Palestinian solution.
For a long time there has been fear in the region where Israel wants to throw the Palestinians from Gaza to the neighboring countries – Israel for example refuses but the person is supported by the right group of its association.
El-Sisi criticized Israel’s move to evacuate more than a million civilians from northern Gaza by October 2023, seen as part of a larger plan to remove all Palestinian land.

“The sending or expulsion of Palestinians from (Gaza) to Egypt (Gaza) to Egypt means that the same situation will happen – that is, the expulsion of Palestinians from Jordan,” said Sisi, adding that there would be no point discussing the situation in Palestine, saying “the country will be there, but the people I won’t.”
At about the same time, King Abdullah called the idea of Palestinian refugees moving to Jordan or Egypt “red line.”
Bassem Naim, a senior Hamas official, said that the donors “will not accept any proposals or solutions” from Trump to leave their country, even if they are well-intentioned under reconstruction. “
Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, an independent Palestinian politician, said he “absolutely rejects” Trump’s views.
“What the operation failed to achieve with its criminal explosion and genocide in Gaza will not be used for political pressure,” Sarghouti said in a statement, adding “the conspiracy of ethnic cleansing will not succeed in Gaza or the West Bank.”
There are approximately 5.9 million Palestinian refugees worldwide, most of whom are descendants of people who fled the creation of Israel in 1948.
When he took office this week, Trump removed the night basins against Israeli invaders who appeared to face deadly violence in the west bank, which has accepted Israel’s power to establish Jewish settlements Gaza was left under Israeli occupation in 2005.
Smotrich evoked Trump’s recent comments, saying “The idea of helping (Gazans) Find other places to start new, better lives is a good idea.”
Trump said earlier this week that he “might” be able to play a role in rebuilding Gaza, which he praised as a place with “a beautiful place, on the sea” and “very good weather.”
