BBC visits Dr Congo Congo Under the rebel control
When I first entered the GAMA city of Dr. Cololi, it was difficult for me to tell me to get into the tongue.
German citizens filled the streets of a few miles from the border and Rwanda – passengers to work, drivers sold the goods closer to the teens and taxi drivers and ripped the coupon.
But it took only a few minutes to see that there was a new “government” in the city.
When I arrived at the test of police officers who had been conducted by Congo officials, war war from M23 Rebel Group suspended my car.
Last week IM23 had taken romance, a town in the east of nearly two million people, after a forward flight in the Eastern DRCO region.
At least 700 people in the city were killed and nearly 3,000 injured as 000 were in conflict with Dr. Cololi’s army and its partners, according to Congo government.
M23, which is developed by Ethnic Tutsis, refers to minor rights, while the government of Dr. Congo said Rwanda rebels wanted to control the massive wealth of east minerals.
On the Checkpoint M23 the rebels looked at my car, asking my driver for a few short questions, and then removed the devastated city.
The rebels were not blamed for opposition – it was as there was always there.
I made my way to a few villages that treated damaged victims and when I entered, the pain crying was placed on the streets.
I met Nathaniel Cirho, Doctor, in the odd variable, sat on a hospital bed with slide around his left arm.
The bomb arrived in the house near her and Mr Cirho and her neighbors were beaten by shrapnel.
“I was injured in my arm. The 65-year-old man injured in his stomach. After surgery, he did not survive.
Several wards do not leave, the old woman slept with her bed at the hospital, and we went to the oxygen tank.
He had snatched a bullet on his arm after an aggressive fire.
“My hand soon felt cold, and I realized that I was shot,” says, striving to find his talk.
In the days, he left gunshot wound without help. He told me that finally was taken to a public hospital by M23.
A woman asked him to be taken to an independent hospital, where he is now receiving treatment, because he was not getting enough attention to burned doctors.
But even in the second hospital, the awards were frustrated as the growing number of patients coming for the doors.
“We treated most of them because we had emergencies,” the doctor, who did not want to be nominated for security reasons, said.
He added: “On Sunday when the war began, we found 315 patients and treated them.”
But now, the hospital lists more than 700 patients in various levels of injury, and the doctor told me.
He spoke of getting patients “on the head-shot wounds, some of the chest, his hands, and legs”.
Like the Eastern Dr Congo Reels, the UN Office of the High Commission of Human Rights has warned that sexual violence is used as a weapon in rival fighters.
The doctor at this private hospital includes the UN statement, saying his place so far has 10 victims of rape and sexual violence.
In addition to the hospital and in the city center, there was a serenity mixture and threat.
People exceed four limited Vans ago, witnessing how it was played when they set safety.
Although the gun and the BAMA’s most common explosions but we died, not all institutions are returned to normal business. A couple of shops opened the roads, but not to others. The big banks also remain restricted.
Perhaps some always know that anything can happen during a variable safety in the broader North Kivu province.
“People are scared … I am afraid because the tension is in Net and we don’t know what happened,” said the store owner Sammmy Mattabishi.
But what is bad that they have no people who do not hug, many have come to Rwanda, [the Congolese city of] Hello, Kenya and Uganda. “
You can add that retailers to the goods in neighboring countries have failed to transport products to the city.
Many residents who were talking to say have agreed with the M23 using the area.
And as an external person I see that apostates intended to assert their power.
They had taken office for the office of North Kivu Milo, and killed them when they progressed in Goma.
Fighters are also in strategic locations around the city, while others travel on the streets by the Pickup trucks, weapons in the hands.
While all the time I was gone, I didn’t see a working side of Congo.
However, I saw the trucks left with an “Fardc”, the French French-armed DRC army dictionary.
Near the Base of UN Peaterping Mission (Monusco) – Who were given a career protection from the citizens from rebellious armies – soldiers, magazines and letters differ.
“When M23 arrived here, they surrounded our army,” Richard Ali living nearby, he told me.
“Many have removed their military uniforms, they threw their weapons and put on public clothes. Some fled.”
Since M23 enjoys a great conquest, the Congolese government continues to oppose the rebels for the rebels to hold Goma completely.
Authorities blame the M23 of the illegal country – Rwanda support – and promises to find any lost territory.
Although Rwanda often denied apostates, its response has changed in their defense, when the government spokesman to fight near her border.
The apostates now reported that they are moved to the south facing Kikeklavu, the capital of the south Kivu, and sworn that they will reach Capital City Kinshasa.
In the meantime, Goma remains their main coup. The circumstances that symbolize the life possible life for many Congo, if M23 finds more soil.
