North Las Vegas police search for ‘highly dangerous’ armed teenager accused of shooting and killing man
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – North Las Vegas police are searching for an armed and “very dangerous” teenager accused of shooting and killing a man.
On Sunday around 9 a.m., North Las Vegas police responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of East Centennial Parkway near North Pecos Road.
When police arrived, they found a man, later identified by the Clark County Coroner’s office as Correy Dennis, 33, suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach. It was later discovered that he had died.
Disagreement leads to fatal shooting in North Las Vegas; fully suspect
The suspect left the scene before police arrived. On Tuesday, police identified the suspect as 16-year-old Arnaz Jones.
Jones is described as a 16-year-old black male, with a long afro with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5’6” and weighs 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with red, black and white lettering on the front and back.
Detectives consider Jones to be armed and “extremely dangerous”. Anyone who sees Jones should not approach him and should call 911 immediately.
Police said the shooting was the result of a disagreement between Dennis and Jones.
