The greatest nation in the history of the world has just endured four years of devastating inflation, open borders, global failure, rising crime, rejection of common sense, and a steady diet of radical ideas. But six weeks ago, the American people boldly announced that enough is enough. Seventy-seven million voters gave President-elect Donald Trump a major political victory. He won the popular vote, captured every state and gained the undisputed authority to restore America’s power and prosperity.
Republicans have also been given control of both chambers of Congress to help President Trump implement his America First agenda from day one. The abject failures of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi must be addressed immediately.
The American people cannot wait for relief when their lives and livelihoods are at stake. As the Republican leadership in Congress, we have prepared a powerful plan to remove any roadblocks and provide a roadmap for reforms and the policy agenda of President Trump. He will use his executive authority to quickly solve many of the problems left behind by the Biden administration, but President Trump’s legacy, as well as reform, must be strengthened by Congress.
TRUMP GIVES JOHNSON ‘FULL AND COMPLETE INTERVIEW’ AHEAD OF SPEAKER WAR
With a unified legislative branch, we will hit the ground running from the start of the 119th Congress. Last year, while media pundits scoffed at the idea of a Republican-controlled Washington, House Republicans prepared for the opportunity. We took the lead in drafting legislative solutions to end the border crisis, restore America’s sovereign power, lower taxes for families and job creators, and restore common sense. And during the campaign cycle, we explained how our principles and ideas could help President Trump transform the country.
To achieve that vision, we must remain united. Despite the popularity of President-elect Trump’s campaign promises, Congressional Democrats will do everything in their power to stop us. All major decisions will require close consensus among House Republicans. We have no time and votes to spare.
President Trump’s return to DC in 2025 will be very different from his first visit in 2017 and the landscape is much different now than it was eight years ago.

Republicans in Congress are campaigning on President Trump’s America First plan, his cabinet selection and reform efforts are supported by the people, world leaders and political opponents welcome his return to office, and House leaders have been working with President Trump’s team for months to ensure that we are in lock step on the policy laws needed to bring America back to the brink.
Look at the budget reconciliation process as evidence. In 2017, Congressional Republicans were at odds over the size and scope of the legislation. Failure to plan effectively limited the President’s ability to achieve his goals. This time we developed an agenda full of ideas that the majority of Americans from across the country have endorsed. The only thing standing in the way of the legislation’s success is Congress itself.
Together, we will work to ensure that President Trump has every resource available to reverse the deadly epidemic of illegal aliens that have invaded our nation and wreaked havoc on our communities. We will prevent the largest tax increase in US history. We will revive the economy and reduce Bidenomics inflation. We will restore America’s power monopoly and dismantle the Green New Deal. And we will reduce the size and scope of government and make it more efficient and accountable again.
There is good reason for palpable excitement and a sense of renewed hope in the country. The American people are ready to stop losing and start winning again, and now is the time.
