A member of British Airways installed an emergency slide at the airport by mistake

British Airways staff accidentally deployed the plane’s emergency slide at London’s Heathrow Airport on Monday morning, delaying it for hours.

The flight, which was due to fly to Brussels, was delayed for about three hours after a crew error, a British Airways spokesperson told Fox Business Digital on Tuesday.

“We apologize to customers for the delay and our teams have worked hard to arrange a replacement flight so that customers can travel with us as planned,” the statement said in a statement.

No customers were on board the plane at the time of the incident, and emergency services responded as part of normal safety measures, a police spokeswoman said.

A source told Solezwe that the staff’s mistake was “the biggest mistake of all,” even though it was a costly mistake.

“It’s a small mistake of £100,000 and we’ve had resources out all day,” a source told the media. “This error is not easy to reach.”
