Tiger Woods had his way on Tuesday night, but his loss was still more palatable to sports fans than the NBA.
Woods’ TGL debut was watched by more than 1 million viewers, up 9% from the league’s debut last week and more than what the NBA released on TNT.
For the second week in a row, TGL produced a one-sided matchup with Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club defeating Los Angeles Golf Club 12-1. Although it’s a new virtual golf league, it marked Woods’ first competitive golf since missing out on the Open Championship last July.
Tuesday’s game averaged 1.13 million viewers from 8:30 to 8:45 pm ET, according to the Sports Business Journal. The game ended at 8:50 pm and the game ended at 9:18 pm

Woods’ team captured its second straight sweep to start the inaugural TGL season, following Bay Golf Club’s 9-2 victory over New York Golf Club on Jan. 7. That game drew nearly 1 million viewers, surpassing the audience numbers of any LIV Golf. aired on the CW two years ago.
Woods’ team will get a chance for immediate redemption when they face Boston Common Golf in the first round of Rory McIlroy’s team on January 27.
The 15-game regular season begins on March 4, followed by the playoffs later that month.
