Jan. 16—As tax season approaches, Kalispell Police Department officers find themselves tasked with coordinating the release of tax documents between a divorced couple. After the ex-husband called to see about the W-2s his ex-wife was supposed to drop off at the Police Department, authorities contacted the ex-spouse as well. He told them that the W-2s hadn’t arrived in the mail yet, but be sure to bring them to the department as soon as they arrived in the mailbox.
Police impounded a black Chevrolet Sonic after its owner left it parked in the same spot for more than a week.
The alarm company contacted police after alarms started going off in the building and a woman appeared on surveillance video. The police contacted the woman who runs the place and that’s when they found out that it was her in the video. Wearing earbuds, he didn’t hear the alarm go off.
Claiming to be a victim of theft, the woman told investigators that someone stole approximately $93,000 from her bank account. However, when they interviewed him, the police found out that the person who had withdrawn him was his business partner. The police told him that it might be a public matter and he would be better off getting a lawyer.
Police reminded the woman to take care of her driver’s license after the traffic stop.
The caller accused a motorist of reckless driving on Lower Valley Road.
Concerned about a man found prone in an icy ditch, a passerby called authorities. The police found that the man was drunk and was hoping to get some sleep.
While cleaning out many of the evicted tenants, the local manager found boxes of weapons labeled “police ammunition.” They called the authorities and asked what to do with the bullets.
Police arrested a suspected drunken driver after a city parks employee reported finding a woman slumped over the wheel of a gold Ford Explorer near a dam. She received a police escort from the county jail while police arranged for a towing company to take the SUV and take her dog to an animal shelter.
A man was removed and banned from the business after the manager caught him lying on the counter in the bathroom.
