While we don’t know when Tiger Woods’ next start will be, we do know one gear he won’t be replacing when he returns.
Bridgestone, Woods’ longtime golf manufacturer, announced that it has re-signed the 15-time major champion, along with four other employees, to play the company’s Tour BX golf balls.
Woods and Bridgestone have a long history as the company is now Woods’ longest-running gear sponsor since parting ways with Nike at the end of 2023. Woods first signed with Bridgestone in December 2016 after Nike exited the hardwear business earlier that year, but Woods later confirmed that it was indeed Bridgestone who made the Nike golf balls he was playing.
“I have played Bridgestone football since my unforgettable 2000 season. “Since the beginning, Bridgestone has continued to innovate and lead the golf ball category in terms of technology, performance, and consistency,” Woods said in a press release announcing his expansion. “They are great at what they do, and I look forward to continuing to work with their R&D team to design the best golf balls in the industry.”

After signing with Bridgestone, Woods first played the Tour B330 S golf ball which was eventually upgraded to the Tour B XS golf ball which Woods won twice in 2019, including his 15th major title at the Masters. But early last year at the Genesis Invitational, after testing the 2022 version of the Match, Woods switched to the low-spinning Tour BX after seeing 10 more carry yards.
“I’m always looking for more distance off the tee and more control on the green, that’s the Holy Grail, and that’s what Bridgestone has delivered with the new Tour BX,” Woods said last year.
