The suspect in the armed robbery is Pool Noodle, the police said
The suspect in Monday night’s robbery of an underground restaurant in Exposition Park was armed with more than a handgun, according to Los Angeles police. He also had a green pool noodle.
Around 7:30 p.m. police responded to a call at a fast food restaurant, located in a strip mall near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the 1000 block of West Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Eyewitnesses described the alleged armed robbery by a white man, who was dressed in all black, including a black snow mask.
The suspect was armed with a gun and a pool noodle, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman David Cuellar. He added that it is not unusual for criminals to carry pool noodles.
“This is the first I’ve heard of it,” Cuellar said.
Cuellar had no details about the lake noodle other than its color. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen fleeing on foot heading east on MLK Boulevard, he said.
