Highlights from TGL’s New York GC vs. Atlanta Drive GC
The TGL had its closest match of the season on Tuesday, as Atlanta Drive Golf Club and New York Golf Club were separated by just two points through the first nine holes. But Atlanta rallied from the last six holes en route to a 4-0 victory.
TGL is a new team golf league where competing teams go head-to-head in a game split between a large fairway and different greens that are adjusted to match ball placement on the short shot fairway.
Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel and Patrick Cantlay play for Atlanta. Lucas Glover was inactive for the team’s first game of the season. For New York, Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick and Rickie Fowler were active while Xander Schauffele sat out.
After being beaten by Bay Golf Club earlier in the season, New York GC was very competitive with Atlanta Drive GC. In addition to the head-to-head competition, the show also offered entertaining moments, including Billy Horschel returning to Atlanta on his tour, hitting the “Dirty Bird” dance.

Apparently, playing golf on a one-of-a-kind course wasn’t enough of a challenge for the world’s best players. The players took it up a notch, challenging each other to try to hit the camera three stories high. Thomas almost hit the camera in his attempt.
