K’s Honesty Hurt Advice to Zion Williamson
Mike Krzyzewski, aka Coach K, gave former Duke player Zion Williamson some advice on how to deal with injuries – something Zion has struggled with throughout his career.
This star has only played ten of Pels’ 44 games this season due to various injuries and coach K really wants him to prioritize strengthening the situation.
“He has to come back from those but he also has to maintain the quality of the situation that will not produce those injuries,” said coach K, using Andy Katz. “The way he jumps and the power he puts out, it’s different if you weigh 20 kilograms more or 20 pounds less. He was good to train and his parents let us train him. I love Zion and I’m sorry he had all these wounds. You’re never the same when you get injured in the middle of the season and come back. At the end of the season, you have a whole offseason and you can get back to 100 percent. Seasonal injuries are very difficult but you still have plenty of them.”
NOLA is not in a good place with a 12-32 record this season and has slipped to last place in the West.
They might do something at the trade deadline and of course, it wouldn’t be the trade deadline without a few Zionist rumors.
The Hornets could be a good landing spot for Zion, according to B/R’s Zach Buckley.
“Williamson wouldn’t face the same pressure in Charlotte, but he could have a chance to win sooner rather than later if he and LaMelo Ball stay healthy,” Buckley wrote. “That viral pairing can be a nightly source of offensive fireworks, and pitcher Brandon Miller can fit into it as a perfect secondary. Sprinkle in the right amount of development around them—and maybe a premiership prospect taken out of the seemingly stacked 2025 draft—and this club could have the star power and depth needed to make waves in the Eastern Conference.”
