Seven San Antonio police officers were shot by a suicide bomber as they went to help.
SWAT arrived at the scene after all officers were shot by the suspect, said San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus.
The suspect was later found dead inside the apartment after an argument that lasted for hours in the north of the city. McManus said it is not known whether the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound or SWAT fire.

An unknown suspect was arrested on Jan. 18, McManus told reporters Thursday morning at the scene, “two for assault and one for DWI.”
The suspect was out on bond when the officer fired the shots at the Sonterra Heights apartment complex in the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway, police said.
The incident began just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, reports KABB FOX 29 San Antonio.

“When I went outside, I saw one of the SAPD officers was shot,” Joseph Loredo, who lives in the apartment, told a local television station. “It was as if he had a wound on his leg because they put a tourniquet on him and pulled him.”
He said he took a video of the shooting incident between the police and the suspect.

The police chief described the suspect as a man in his 40s, and said that the first time the police were called was a family member.
