Gogolook launched the first Digital Defender program at Asia Pacific College
Gogolook, a global leader in TrustTech, recently launched its Digital Security Program at Asia Pacific College (APC) in Makati City.
During the launch, Gogolook Philippines Country Head Mel Migriño emphasized that the program aims to equip students with more knowledge about online safety.
“The Digital Security Program embodies Gogolook’s commitment to helping Filipinos stay safe online by promoting a culture of vigilance and security,” said Ms. Migriño.
“Through this initiative, we aim to equip every Filipino with the knowledge and tools to identify potential threats, practice cyber security, and create a safe digital environment for all,” he added.
Gogolook is the developer of Whoscall, a global anti-scam app that provides users with advanced tools and free features to help them avoid online scams.
This program is based on three key pillars: education, collaboration, and empowerment.
Provides comprehensive information on current scam trends, best practices for cyber security, and digital security resources; fosters a community where everyone is encouraged to stay informed and support each other as advocates for safe digital practices; and provide stakeholders with tools, resources, and incentives to emphasize the benefits of a safe digital world.
APC President Tata Medado expressed gratitude to Gogolook for choosing APC as the venue for the launch.
“This program is just one part of the partnership between Gogolook and APC, and we are looking forward to other programs in the future,” said Medado.
The program’s mechanics and rewards program was introduced by Gabe Barrios, Gogolook Philippines Marketing Head, aimed at attracting more students to join the Digital Safety Program as a way to increase access to digital safety through gaming.
In addition, Ms. Migriño highlighted the benefits of the special program, including six months of Whoscall Premium Basic.
“In addition to Whoscall’s powerful free features, Whoscall Premium Basic offers Auto Scam/Spam Call Blocker, Auto Database Updates, and Auto SMS URL Scanner,” he explained.
Whoscall app experience
Gieo Marck Endaya Santos, a multimedia art student at APC, shared his experience as a victim of a delivery scam. He expressed his gratitude for the cooperation between Gogolook and APC, and said that it made him aware of Whoscall, which is helping to protect him from being scammed on the internet.
“At first, I was surprised when I heard about Whoscall’s features because I had never encountered any app with such capabilities – something that really protected me from online fraud,” said Mr. Santos.
“I am very happy with the cooperation with Whoscall. The best part is not just responding after something happens; it is about preventing the scam from happening in the first place,” he added, praising the Gogolook-APC partnership.
Meanwhile, Riana Beduya, an architecture student at APC, shared, “Whoscall really helps keep us safe from these types of scams, especially those that seem very convincing. Many people fall for such scams.”
“Extending this protection to my family and friends is a big step for our safety because it protects our personal information, bank accounts, and everything else that keeps us safe,” Ms. Beduya added.
