Airline passengers are sharing photos of a person ‘on my lap’ in a seat complaint

Many airline seats have the ability to recline for a more relaxing flight experience, but one man shared how far another passenger’s seat can move.

In a recent post on X/Twitter, a man under the username @av_cova posted a photo of the chair in front of him sitting back so far that his knees were touching the top of the chair. He stated in the document that he was sitting in first class on an American Airlines flight.

“‘First class,'” he began his career. “Dude, you are in my hands. You continue to be awful, @AmericanAir. “

In this series, the man explained that he could not walk in the house. He stated that the chair was able to move so far because it was broken.

“I can’t use my table and the opportunity to get up. I’m on 3C, so 2C is obviously broken. AA1851. Fix it before someone else wastes a fortune on first class and gets f***ed @AmericanAir,” the post read.

In interview no Fox Newsuser X revealed that he informed the flight attendant about the seat problem, but allegedly nothing was done to fix it.

“He dismissed it – essentially saying, ‘It’s an old plane; some of these seats are worn out,’” he told the outlet. “No matter how I positioned myself, the seat was still facing my knees. The gentleman sitting in front of me was very sympathetic, but he could not get the seat to lock forward, because it was not working.”

American Airlines later responded to the passenger’s complaint, as they commented under his post apologizing for what happened.

“Maintaining our aircraft in good condition is always a goal,” they wrote. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for bringing this to us. We will take this to the maintenance people for review. We apologize again.”

However, he was not satisfied with an apology, as the man replied: “Maintenance will not refund the money I wasted…”

Talking to A foxa social media user explained that he spent an extra $500 on a first-class seat specifically for extra leg room, which was impossible due to the seat’s poor performance.

This is not the first time someone has complained about a seat on a plane. Back in September, Erin Rempel turned to TikTok to share a video of her experience in the middle seat of an airplane.

The clip showed him sitting in the middle seat with two men on either side of him, who had stretched their legs far enough that he could be seen sliding off his seat. The text on her video screen simply reads: “Women’s anger.”

“Why does a person NEVER need that much room??? I tried to get him to move but he refused,” he wrote in the caption of his video.

Her TikTok went on to receive over 20 million views, with many people commenting to express how crazy they are as Rempel. Some people even call the display “manspreading” – when a man stretches his legs in a public place, often taking an extra seat while performing a ritual or invading the space of others.

“Girl you need to say something. They don’t have to go that far, if you’re scared, call the flight attendant,” said one commenter at the time.
