Nikki Haley and Charlamagne agree that ‘Morning Joe’ hosts visited Trump because they ‘saw the ratings tank’
Host Charlamagne Tha God and former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley said the “Morning Joe” host’s controversial visit to President-elect Donald Trump’s home was nothing more than a balancing act.
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, Trump’s fiercest critics in the media, revealed Monday that they had a face-to-face meeting last week with the president-elect at Mar-a-Lago, saying he was important. an opportunity for those who disagree to talk to each other.
Haley addressed the incident in an episode of her SiriusXM show, “Nikki Haley Live,” which will air in full on Wednesday, November 27, at 8 a.m. ET.
“Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough would hate me if I said anything about voting for Donald Trump or agreeing with him, even though I criticized him if I thought he was wrong. I admired him when I thought he was good. They went through. wake me up,” Haley said of the duo before they came face to face.

“But the truth is, it’s not that they suddenly saw the light. It’s because they saw the proportions,” Haley suggested as Charlamagne laughed and agreed. “I mean, let’s be clear. They saw the ratings tank and they saw, ‘Oh, we’d better go with Donald Trump or we’re not going to have a show.’
“It’s a game of ratings and revenue,” Charlamagne said. “What I don’t understand is, if you don’t like something someone said, if you don’t like something someone did, why don’t you talk to that person about it and challenge them right there?”
He added that the Democrats, some of whom are complaining that they need their own independent journalists, can start changing their game plan by appearing on the platforms they criticize.
“That’s why I think the biggest problem is, even now, when I see all these liberal leaders, they have these conversations, ‘Oh, the left needs Joe Rogan’ or ‘The left needs a conservative network like the right. You have it.’ It’s like, no, how, grow some balls and get on these platforms?

Charlamagne added that there is one Democrat who seems to be at the forefront of this strategy.
“If you look at what Governor Newsom is doing right now, I think it’s a smart move. Like, you know, he’s not my favorite person, right? Whoever I’m looking to support at this point. But I like his media strategy,” Charlamagne said, suggesting that by going to news outlets like Fox News , Newsom “meets people where they are and I think that’s what a lot of politicians do politicians, they don’t meet people where they are.”
News about the Trump-Scarborough-Brzezinski meeting sparked a firestorm on the left, with MSNBC staff criticizing those involved.
“Cowardice,” one MSNBC employee responded to Fox News Digital. “Do well [anti-Trump historian] Tim Snyder warns our spirit not to: listen early. It’s disgusting but frankly not surprising.”
The source said MSNBC’s rank and file are now “absolutely disgusted” with the network’s morning stars, saying they “appear to be opportunists.”
Trump, meanwhile, described the meeting as “very positive.”
“I got a call from Joe Scarborough asking for a meeting with Mika, and I agreed that it would be a good thing if such a meeting happened,” Trump told Fox News Digital. “A lot of things were discussed, and I really appreciated the fact that they wanted to communicate openly … In many ways, it’s too bad it wasn’t done earlier.
“The meeting ended in a positive way, we agreed that we will talk in the future,” he added.
