Srinagar feels cold in winter as it dips to at least 0.7 degrees Celsius
Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir on Wednesday experienced the coldest night of the season as the minimum dropped below the freezing mark in many parts of the valley, officials said.
Srinagar city recorded a drop of 0.7 degrees Celsius.
The officials said that many other areas in the valley also experienced the coldest night of the season as many areas of the valley registered sub-zero temperatures.
Qazigund recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum at the tourist resort of Pahalgam settled at minus 3.7 degrees Celsius.
Pahalgam was the coolest place recorded in this valley.
Gulmarg ski resort registered minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, while Kupwara town cleared 0.8 degrees Celsius.
Kokernag was the only weather station where the minimum remained above the coldest point of 1.2 degrees Celsius, officials said.
The Meteorological Department said the weather will last until November 23.
On November 24, the weather is likely to be cloudy with a chance of light rain/light snow, especially at higher altitudes, in scattered parts of Kashmir.
