Ventura County woman accused of running prostitution rings disguised as beauty parlors

Ventura County sheriff’s detectives have arrested a woman they say was operating a strip mall disguised as a resort.
Detectives began looking into the Swan Spa in Thousand Oaks earlier this year after they suspected employees were selling sexual services to customers. Spa owner Amanda Xia, 44, was arrested on November 13 on charges including burglary and money laundering.
Xia owns three other businesses advertised as massage and health parlors, which the sheriff’s department said also operate as prostitution establishments.
“Detectives were able to identify many men suspected of buying commercial sex in each of the four areas under investigation,” said the department in a press release.
The other businesses were Star Spa in Newbury Park, Victoria Spa in Lake Forest and Four Seasons Spa in Lake Forest, according to the sheriff’s department.
