Transgender rights activists on Thursday participated in a “bathroom sit-in” in a restroom across from House Speaker Mike Johnson’s office on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to protest a new policy barring transgender people from using gender-specific bathrooms. .
About 15 people have been arrested on suspicion of crowding, obstructing or entering illegal protests inside the Cannon House Office Building, US Capitol Police told Fox News Digital.
The demonstration was organized by the Gender Liberation Movement, which describes itself as a grassroots organization focused on self-control of the body and sexuality.

A video posted on the group’s Instagram account shows protesters holding signs that read “End Racism in the Toilet,” occupying a toilet and blocking a hallway.
The Hill reported that Chelsea Manning, a former US Army intelligence analyst and whistleblower, is one of those targeted by authorities linked to the zip. The move comes before the first openly transgender lawmaker, Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, D-Del., joins Congress in January. McBride is a natural male who identifies and presents as a female.
Mace recently introduced a resolution to ban men who identify as women from women’s restrooms on Capitol Hill. On Thursday, he posted a video of X standing outside the Capitol police station.
