OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is joining the list of famous US players donating to President-elect Donald Trump’s fund, a spokesperson told Fox News Digital exclusively.
“President Trump will lead our country into the AI era, and I look forward to supporting his efforts to ensure America stays ahead,” Altman said in a written statement.
Altman is reportedly planning a personal commitment of $1 million to the President’s Innovation Committee, in lieu of a gift directly from OpenAI.
The news comes after Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Platform and Jeff Bezos’ Amazon both announced $1 million in startup funding, moves that are believed to be working to mend relations with the incoming CEO.

Bezos will donate to Amazon, the Wall Street Journal reported, and Zuckerberg promised a Meta gift while attending Trump’s Thanksgiving dinner at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Altman, who revolutionized the intelligence industry with the creation of ChatGPT, told Fox News Sunday earlier this month that he is looking forward to working with the incoming Trump administration, stressing how “very important” it is to the US and its allies. to lead the infrastructure that will support the development of advanced AI, especially in the technological race against China.
“AI is a little different than other types of software because it requires a large amount of infrastructure, power, computer chips, data centers, and we need to build that here, and we need to be able to have the best AI infrastructure. The world can lead with technology and power,” said Altman. “I believe President-elect Trump will be very good at that.”

Other tech professionals who supported Trump during his campaign included Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Palantir Technologies founder Joe Lonsdale, financier David Sacks, Andreessen Horowitz founders Ben Horowitz and Marc Andreessen, and Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.
