At least 10 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli airstrike in the city of Deir al-Balah in the center of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian WAFA media reported on Saturday.
The attack targeted a municipal building, which was sheltering homeless people, WAFA reported. The injured were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The mayor of Deir al-Balah is reported to be among the dead.
The information could not be immediately confirmed. The Israeli military said it was looking into the report.
Separately, WAFA reported that seven people were killed when Israeli forces attacked an old school building in Gaza City.
Health authorities controlled by Hamas in the region reported that 55 Palestinians were killed by Israeli action in a 24-hour period. More than 44,900 people have been killed since the current war began in October last year.
