Where Can Orioles Turn For Ace?

Looking at what they have.
Coby Mayo 3B/1B/DH
Mayo is an ineffective 3B with a cannon arm and great power. He doesn’t have a playing spot right now with the Orioles. He might push Westburg or Mountcastle at some point, but for now.
Samuel Basallo C
With Rutschmann entrenched behind the plate as one of the best young catchers in the game, Basallo could be used. He was exposed against an older pitch at AAA, but he was already the youngest player at that level.
One of them would be a good Cease title piece.
Then you have more prospects than the section below. It’s just out of the 100 range.
Helton Kjerstad LF
They don’t believe Kjerstad is ready and don’t think he will be anytime soon because they signed O’Niell to a 3/50 deal. Kjerstad has 147 PA, so he doesn’t qualify as a rookie, but even before getting those last 17 spots, he was out of the top 100 prospects in midseason reviews. I still have a little bit of hope in my opinion.
Chase McDermott RHP
McDermott got a cup of coffee in the majors and struggled. His control issues followed him from AAA to the Orioles. He went 5.6 for 9 in AA and AA over the last 2 seasons. Good stuff. Bad command. At 26, he is not young. Orioles #5 prospect, but not a top 100 prospect or close.
Brandon Young RHP
Another 26-year-old, Young is a 6’6″ pitcher with no freaks, sitting at 92.93 mph. It was not what I expected when I saw his size. He is a prototypical rotation type back when he gets to the majors.
Aside from these two, none of the other MLB pitching prospects are good or in the upper half of their prospect list.
That leaves the big league games.
Albert Suarez is 35 years old in 2025.
Kyle Bradish is injured. TJ surgery. And it won’t be back until June at the earliest. That is a no.
Not sure who else they have.
3 team trade that sends Mayo or Basallo and Kjerstad and another SP to the Padres and Cease and another prospect to the Orioles?
