Warriors Steph Curry is finally announcing his retirement from the NBA
The star of the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, is still one of the most visible people in the NBA.
While Curry continues to perform at a high level on the basketball court, he is also 36 years old, and next spring will mark the end of his 16th season in the league. Although the four-time NBA champion admitted that he is closer to the end of his career than the beginning, Curry said he can enjoy life in the moment.
“More than I’ve had before,” he said during a sit-down with ESPN as he discussed his NBA future. “I think, you know, it’s okay to accept and acknowledge that the end is near, no matter what. But only because it allows you to enjoy what’s happening right now. But I think the more you talk about it, the more you accept that. , it increases the sense of urgency in the moment.”

Although Curry did not attach an exact number to the number of seasons left, he made it clear that his motivation to win is still strong.
DENNIS SCHRÖDER SAYS HIS SON APPROVED TRADE TO HEROES: ‘NOW’S A GOOD TEAM’
“It’s a matter of admitting, okay, me and me [Warriors teammate] Draymond [Green] they are in our time. You know, we’re in a situation where you have to think about the game differently. But if you don’t win, the answer is, ‘How do we make this happen for me?’ I only have a certain number of years left, and I want to win as fast as possible. And what helps me, helps us. So, yes, it’s a funny word, because it’s the people who say it, and what’s the real answer? We are trying to find it,” he said.
Curry was a key part of the Warriors’ run to three NBA titles in four seasons. Golden State won a fourth NBA Finals with Curry in 2022. He also won two league MVP trophies and is a ten-time NBA All-Star.
The Warriors’ 2024-25 campaign is off to a strong start, as the team has jumped to a 12-3 record. But Golden State enters their Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Lakers with a 15-13 record and currently sits in eighth place in the Western Conference.

The Warriors failed to make the playoffs last season after losing in the NBA Play-In tournament. Curry and his teammates are looking to avoid a repeat of that this season, and the trade deadline in February could prove critical to their 2024-25 prospects.
The Christmas Day game between the Warriors and Lakers will tip off at 8 pm ET.
