Toyoda Gosei has been pursuing ways to reduce waste by selling various products under the brand of ethical behavior, converting sensitive airbag bags into bags, leather cases, and other products. Asics has always used synthetic materials in its shoes and sportswear.
The current project is Toyoda Gosei The second collaboration of Asics, following the launch of sneakers that use airbag fabric in January 2023. The two companies cooperate with limits in the industry under the philosophy of sharing. In order to use construction materials as little waste as possible, original techniques are included in this project, such as combining pieces of small scraps into patchwork. Steering wheel studs produced at the Toyoda Gasei plant in Vietnam are used in this project, and Asics uses these scraps in shoes that are also produced in Vietnam, not only reducing waste but also2 in the transportation of remains.
