The video shows flames shooting from the plane’s wing during the terrifying landing
Flames erupted from the plane’s wing as it landed at a Canadian airport, and a passenger who saw it outside his window captured it on video.
The incident happened around 09:30 pm Dec. 28 on Air Canada Express Flight 2259, operated by Pal Airlines, the airport said on X. The plane was coming from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and landed at Halifax Stanfield Airport in Nova. Scotland.
“I’m almost f—ing dead, guys,” Aden O’Callaghan said from inside the plane while filming.
O’Callaghan told Storyful media that a “landing gear failure” led to the fire and caused the plane to slide down the runway for more than 15 seconds.

Air Canada did not immediately respond to an inquiry by FOX Business, but a spokesperson for the airline confirmed to CBC that the plane experienced a “landing gear problem” after landing. There were an undisclosed number of crew and 73 passengers on board. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the incident, CBC said.
Additional photos of the scene captured efforts to put out the fire.
“The plane started to land at about a 20-degree angle to the left and, as that happened, we heard a loud noise – it almost sounded like a crash – as the wing of the plane started to dive near the road, with what I think was an engine,” passenger Nikki Valentine told Canada’s CBC.

O’Callaghan told the CBC he felt groggy the next day after landing hard and had neck and back pain.
“Other than that I’m fine, I’m still shaking,” she said.

The airport wrote to X less than an hour after the incident, saying that all those on board were off the plane and that the airport was temporarily closed while they repaired the situation.
