We took the Arctic train at the largest hotel in the world
Have you ever wondered what it was like to board the train overnight over the Arctic Circle?
We traveled by train worldwide, and this rides in a frigid river to the largest world hotel We joined to see if the journey with Scandinavia Counces must be hype!
Train # 1: Narvik, Norway in Kiruna, Sweden
Our journey started in Narvik, Norway, 137 miles inside the Arctic Circle, three hours in Kiruna, Sweden. It was snowing all night, creating the beauty of the beautiful winter of the trip.
If we were reliable, this was not an interesting part of our trip, but just the action that we needed to take to reach the biggest train trip. The train was very small, only two cars long, and condemned and barked with a slightly burned patches who were cold.
However, this was the only part of our train journey when it broke out so we were able to completely enjoy the ideas of snowy snow, the best mountains, and the highest scandinavia cabinets.
The largest hotel in the world
We arrived at Kiruna, Sweden, in the afternoon and took a taxi in the largest hotel in the world – our night home. Or don’t spend the night, worth tour because the hotel is double like a museum during the day.
Think about this: Down the snow, the walls are freezing, the roof is freezing. All, from beds to the hotel text, completely made of snow. The hotel is kept at low temperatures can prevent dissolving, so while properly designed for comfort, it is amazing.
The hotel has 12 artwork, each is different from one of the world’s best artists. During our stay, there was a rainbow and waterfall-themed suite, Suite with inspired mermaid carventings for local myths, and the Suite made from Retro video style. Each room was completely disregarded.
Before we enter our Art Suite, we checked some hotel items. We found a large Cell Elandeliers hall, Ice Chapel where you can actually get married, and snow bar in which drinks are given, you thought, sunglasses were completely made in the snow.
Our room was simple but unforgettable. Slab in the middle of the room worked as a bed, equipped with reindeer bags and pets to keep it warm. The bathroom, thanks, is not made of ice, and we shared with other guests.
Just as we were drifted to sleep, we received a text warning that the northern lamps were made without the hotel! Even though leaving our cool bedrooms was the last thing we wanted to do, we didn’t stop the chance to see the northern lamps, so we went. Outside, we were greeted by active ribbons of the green dance of purple, making it a proper conclusion of our Arctic night.
The next morning, we awoke that we were surprised that we had been sleeping and was ready for a very happy journey of Stockholm train!
Train # 2: Kiruna, Sweden to Stockholm, Sweden
The nearly 800 miles from Kiruna’s Kiruna city to Sweden’s Capital begins now! We booked a few feet of the train and was ready to take this 13-hour trip by the Sweden area.
The small small room that lives is our Swedish train was nothing to write a home about, but that means that, it was actually not all. The room consisted of three bunk beds, bench, window, and small ink. The temperature of the room of the room were visible as a luxury, many trains have a mid-air system, which often made the rest of the train very hot or too cold.
The floor of the hall were the most common bathrooms and shows. The restaurant has sold sandwiches and frozen food – and no significant, but good enough! There was no car for dining, so we turned to a small table in our room. Our beds are so sweet and warmer than our snow room before.
The highlight of this train trip? Promise the coffee as we look at the sun from the Sweden rural – glorious pools, encouraging churches, permanent places of a beautiful place!
Was it worth the hype?
Like train trainiatics of train, we are always very happy with the new train journey. The certain train was in our bucket bath for a long time, and it was a good opportunity to see the parts of Sweden we will not meet.
Saying, Scandinavia doesn’t get a big winter, so we couldn’t see many views on the train as we had hope. If you want to ride the train to enjoy Swedish views, we can recommend reservations during the summer months where daylight is there.
